Dr. Adam N. Whatley is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon with over 10 years in practice. He specializes in joint replacements of the hip, knee, and shoulder, cartilage regeneration, sports medicine, and fracture care.

Dr. Whatley completed his undergraduate degree at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He went on to complete both his medical degree and orthopaedic surgery residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. He then received fellowship training with Harvard University at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA, one of the top facilities in the country. During his fellowship focused on sports medicine, he gained a great deal of experience with joint replacement therapy and cartilage restoration. In June 2009, he won the Jack Winters Award for Most Outstanding Senior Research Presentation.

In addition to his practice with Baton Rouge Orthopaedic Clinic, Dr. Whatley also engages with his community, providing sports medicine on the sidelines for West Feliciana High School and Zachary High School. Dr. Whatley enjoys family time with his wife and three children. He is an active member of his church, volunteers with his children’s schools and has a personal interest in supporting St. Jude. An avid hunter and fisherman, he also enjoys LSU sports, playing golf, cooking, traveling, music and movies. If you ask, he might even share his favorite movie quotes!
