COVID-19 Policies

Patient safety is the top priority for Dr. Whatley and his staff, especially with regard to COVID-19. We have taken several measures to ensure the safety of both our patients and our staff.

We ask that anyone visiting our offices follow the policies below. If you have any questions, please call our office at (225) 658-1808.

In-Office Safety Measures

Dr. Whatley and his team are doing the following to minimize the risk of COVID-19:

  • Waiting rooms are sanitized frequently.
  • Telemedicine appointments are available in some cases.
  • Masks are required for everyone entering the building.

If you have recently tested positive for COVID-19, have symptoms of COVID-19, or are feeling sick, we kindly ask that you call our office to reschedule your appointment. This is to ensure the safety of the patients and staff in our office.

Telemedicine

Dr. Whatley also offers telemedicine for appointments that do not require in-office evaluation. If you are interested in telemedicine, you may request it at the time of scheduling your appointment. Dr. Whatley’s staff will let you know if your appointment is eligible for telemedicine and will send you all of the details on how to connect for your appointment if you schedule a virtual appointment.

Surgery Information

Dr. Whatley and his staff will provide information on what to expect ahead of your scheduled surgery, including any COVID-related policies that you should be aware of.

In some cases, surgery may be scheduled at an outpatient facility, which can reduce the risk of COVID and other infections because those patients are not treated at outpatient facilities. However, in cases where surgery must be done at the hospital with an overnight stay, rest assured that the staff is doing everything they can to keep our patients safe and minimize infection risks.
